Body - Mind - Spirit

People - Plants - Planets

Massage - Natural remedies - vibration

Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person -- body, mind, spirit, and emotions -- in the quest for optimal health and wellness. According to the holistic medicine philosophy, one can achieve optimal health -- the primary goal of holistic medicine practice -- by gaining proper balance in life.

Holistic medicine practitioners believe that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health.

"Neuroscience explains that experiences along the spectrum from fear to tranquility create chemical responses in the human brain.  Some responses take longer to subside than others, leaving a residual chemical imbalance in our system. We may feel “off”, uncomfortable, or not sick but not quite well, and attribute it to a passing mood. Over time, we may become accustomed to feeling uncomfortable and absorb the feeling into our concept of what is normal for us, thereby accepting the burden of our physical imbalance."

Don’t Sexualize our craft…

Let’s stand together, as massage therapists, to fight against sexual solicitations. Let’s put an end to the uncomfortable texts, phone calls, and office visits. Let’s create transparency in our profession and make it abundantly clear that we are not sex workers.

Windows & Meridian-based acupressure

Windows to the Sky are Acupuncture points, which have been used for centuries to help people move into meditation-like, altered states of consciousness. These points are stimulated with gentle finger pressure and may be accompanied with essential oils, flower essences or crystals to intensify their effectiveness.

Vibrational resonance

Vibrational Sound Healing is modeled on the Acutonics® system developed at the Acutonics Institute of Integrative Medicine in New Mexico, USA. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine practices developed over the past four millennia, sound is applied to acupuncture points and meridians with precision-calibrated tuning forks. The Acutonics tuning forks are designed to produce specific frequencies and musical intervals that create predictable and repeatable therapeutic effects. For example, case studies have shown that Acutonics forks tuned in unison and applied along the spine help alleviate back pain, and the musical interval known as the perfect fifth can help resolve deep emotional issues.

FIVE ELEMENTS

The Ancient Chinese Medical practitioners observed the Five Elements in Nature, and saw their reflections in the physiology of man. They named the five qualities of energy; Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each Element was observed to predominate a different season. Yin/Yang theory was developed by observing the polar opposites that exist in Nature (night and day, cold and hot, Water and Fire, rest and activity). These naturally occurring opposites have an effect on human physiology, pathology, and wellness.

Experience and Education

Since 1998 I have been immersed in multiple aspects of the salon/spa world. My name is Jason and my passion for helping others in such a multifaceted atmosphere has kept my drive for knowledge ever-evolving. I enjoy being able to work with individuals and help them find balance in their lives. People come stressed, bent and broken, and after just a single session they feel revitalized, restored, rejuvenated, and mostly grateful.

Human Design

A synthesis of ancient wisdom & modern science

Ancient wisdom traditions like the I’Ching, Hindu Chakra system, Tree of Life (Kabbalah) and Eastern/Western Astrology are synthesized with the Science of Neutrinos, Genetics and Physics to create a genetic blueprint of the nature of your being… a Human Design BodyGraph.

The colored wheel surrounding the Bodygraph is called the Mandala. It is subdivided into 64 partitions that represent Gates. The 64 Gates correspond to the 64 Hexagrams of the I'Ching. Each Gate number has a fixed location in the Bodygraph and the Mandala. The Gates are color coded to match the color of the Center that they are connected to. Each Gate is divided into six sub-sections called Lines. (These are the short notches within the arc of each Gate around the wheel). The inner wheel of the Mandala is sub-divided into the 12 astrological signs.

The information in your Human Design BodyGraph can help you on your journey through life. It is a language and system of classifications, visually representing the human experience. Its many components represent different aspects of how we function. It names our feelings and offers insights into how different parts of us work. The goal of the system is to help people understand themselves, find inner strength and clarity, and to live genuine lives by discovering your Strategy & Authority.

Therapeutic Massage

Just one massage can help with:

  • Chronic or Acute Pain Relief

  • Stress Management

  • Better Sleep

  • Increased Joint Mobility

Benefits of massage are cumulative. Therefore regular scheduled massage can give you long term pain and stress relief, and help you manage life.

A customized therapeutic massage may include some or all the following techniques:

Swedish massage is the baseline massage technique used in most massage sessions. It consists of long flowing strokes called effluerage, some petrissage (kneading,), and sometimes tapotement (tapping or light percussion.) The overall objective of Swedish is to relax and soften tissue.

Trigger Point Therapy: this bodywork technique involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Sometimes massage and trigger point therapy are performed together.

Deep tissue massage is used to alleviate tension and soreness in the deeper muscle layer. For some this modality can be too intense if it is not done correctly. Superficial muscle tissue needs to be softened first before the layers underneath can be addressed.

Shiatsu, Acupressure, and Reflexology :  Applied pressure is used along the meridians to unblock energy congestion which increases blood flow to the area and the flow of Qi. The intention is to calm the sympathetic nervous system and tonify the parasympathetic. The calmness of the parasympathetic nervous system is associated with the Traditional Chinese Medicine concept of Yin (silent, still, slow, cool, dark, receptive, solid organs, and the metaphor of water), while Yang is its polar opposite (loud, active, fast, hot, bright, expressive, hollow organs, and the metaphor for fire). The root of all disease is believed to be hidden deep within the Yin. Pressure may be applied with the pads of the thumbs or fingers, with the knuckles, palms, and the heels of the hands, elbows, forearms, knees, or feet. In the case of reflexology, the energy points that I work are on the feet. These techniques help the body release tension, calm the nerves, boost immunity and help promote healing.

Vibrational Resonance: Vibrational Sound Healing is modeled on the Acutonics® system developed at the Acutonics Institute of Integrative Medicine in New Mexico, USA.

There are literally hundreds of therapeutic applications of the Acutonics system, with tuning fork protocols designed for a variety of disorders and disharmonies, such as:

  • chronic pain, joint/muscle pain, post-op/cancer pain

  • stress in both adults and children; PTSD

  • allergies and asthma

  • depression, anxiety, and addictions

  • digestive issues

  • sleep issues

  • wound and bruise healing

  • chemotherapy detoxification

  • psycho-spiritual issues

  • energy blockages

Acutonics draws on clinical experiences and observations, scientific research, the spiritual and wisdom traditions of both Eastern and Western medicine, Jungian psychology, observational physics and astrophysics, celestial mechanics, and sound healing principles, resulting in powerful treatments that heal the body, the psyche, and the emotions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Down tempo, headonic beats, unsyncopated ensemble rhythms, ambient synth textures, and/or psychedelic tripped-out music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be appropriately draped during the entire session.

Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet and blanket.

Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. If you would like abdomen work don't hesitate to ask.

What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
A relaxing Swedish massage is often a baseline for clients. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. A high quality massage cream is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The cream also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.

Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork?
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.

What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.

How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.

What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
